Hi, I'm Hector

I'm an enterprise and platform architect based in Los Angeles, with 20+ years of experience designing, evolving, and operating distributed systems — including nearly eight years at NBCUniversal, where I set technical direction for enterprise-scale AWS commerce and content platforms powering the global media supply chain.

I've spent my career at the intersection of deep technical work and human alignment: crystallizing API and platform standards that teams actually adopt, translating complex system landscapes into reference architectures and guidance engineers actually use, and building consensus across product, platform, security, and vendor teams — without formal authority.

Why Agentic AI

My real passion right now is Agentic AI — the shift from AI as a chat window to AI as a system participant.

I pioneered NBCUniversal's enterprise generative AI adoption on Amazon Bedrock, designing governed agentic workflows where LLM-powered agents securely access internal services through MCP servers. What excites me most is that this is fundamentally an architecture problem: agents need well-designed boundaries, contracts, guardrails, and observability just like any distributed system. Twenty years of thinking about how services, data, and infrastructure fit together turns out to be exactly the discipline agentic systems demand.

I believe the architects who will matter in the next decade are the ones who can carry ambiguous, emerging AI patterns from proof-of-concept to production — with security and governance built in from day one. That's the work I love doing, and the work I write about here.
